Hi, I’m passionate about crafting unforgettable stories that captivate and inspire readers of all ages. The idea for this story came to me when I was searching for special, meaningful gifts for my daughter, and many nieces and nephews. I wanted something truly unique—something magical, personal and unforgettable. That’s when I thought of creating a personalised story tailored to them, making them the hero of their own adventure. It features the forest local to me: Woburn woods in Buckinghamshire. And the original story also includes my dog, Bronte (pictured here). Though my adult novels have a touch of darkness to them, this story is full of magic and lightness, and perfect for children. Very innocent and magical!

What happens after ordering?
Once you complete your purchase via my Buchanan Books store, you will receive an email with a link to a form where you can enter the details for your personalised story. The link to personalise your story will appear in the email that will arrive after placing your order, subject line beginning: 'Your Buchanan Books order...'. Check your junk folder if it doesn't arrive. Your digital items will be delivered via email within 7 days of you submitting your form. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to get in touch using the contact button below.
What sort of age group is this story aimed at?
Any children who are at the stage of reading chapter books will be able to read the story themselves (so usually aged seven onwards). But it is suitable to be read out, and be played to, younger children too. If it were a film, I would say it's a PG, similar to one of the Narnia films. There are no inappropriate moments, bad language or frightening content. But there are moments of light suspense and adventure that make it exciting and magical for all ages.

What ages can the story be personalised for?
Up to 16 (or older, if the character is a child at heart!), including babies and children with mobility issues. You'll get the chance to indicate all this in your personalisation form, which you will be asked to fill out once you've made your order.

How long is the story?
The exact length will depend on personalisation but it's around 7,000 words, and my 11-year-old daughter read it under an hour, so ideal reading for Christmas Eve night or a few pages a day leading up to Christmas.​

The exact same personalised story, delivered as an MP3 file for easy listening.
What's in the letter?
It's sent specifically from Santa's Librarian, who works in the beautiful inivisible library at the heart of the North Pole. It will be addressed to your child and mention parts of The Land Between Snow and Sky. It will be delivered as a PDF one page beautifully designed letter.

Does the secondary character get the same personalisation?
We do feature the secondary character's name and give a sense of their age, and they do play a large part. Or you can order one story per child. But if you'd like more than one main character (for example, if you have three children who you want to give equal personalisation to in the story), this will involve more writing time and therefore, a higher fee. Just contact me using the button below to discuss. :-)
Can I order for multiple children?
Yes! Simply place separate orders for each child to ensure the story is personalised for each of them, filling in the forms for each order.

If you'd like even more personalisation, contact me and I'll see what I can do. But there will be an extra charge!

Is this suitable for people living in countries other than the UK?
Of course! As long as you're happy to receive the story in British English, I can email it to anywhere in the world!
What if I make a mistake in the personalisation form?
Contact me as soon as possible after submitting the form. I'll do my best to correct it before your story is finalised. Please double check the form before pressing send though to avoid this.
How long does it take to receive my order?
You should receive an email with your items within 7 days of you submitting your personalisation form.
What happens if my order doesn’t arrive on time?
